Ingredients

  • 12 –16 cherry tomatoes
  • 8 oz 225 g firm feta cheese, cut into cubes
  • 2 –3 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 –2 tsp dried oregano or Italian herb blend
  • Freshly cracked black pepper
  • Fresh basil or oregano leaves for garnish
  • Small wooden skewers

Instructions

  • Prepare the feta: Cut feta into small, even cubes. Choose a firm block so the cubes hold their shape on the skewer.
  • Marinate the feta: In a small bowl, gently toss the cubes with olive oil, dried oregano, and black pepper. Avoid adding extra salt—feta is already salty.
  • Assemble the skewers: Thread cherry tomatoes and feta cubes alternately onto wooden skewers.
  • Garnish: Add fresh basil or oregano leaves to each skewer for aroma and a fresh pop of color.
  • Serve: Enjoy immediately, or chill for 30–60 minutes before serving for deeper flavor.

Notes

Tips

  • Choose firm Greek block feta so it doesn’t crumble.
  • Pat tomatoes dry so they pick up seasoning better.
  • Drizzle a little olive oil over the skewers right before serving for shine and extra flavor.

Variations

  • Add a light balsamic drizzle for a sweet tang.
  • Add olives for a classic Greek mezze twist.
  • Slide in cucumber slices for extra crunch.
  • Use flavored olive oil such as garlic, basil, or chili for added depth.

Storage

  • Store assembled skewers in an airtight container for up to 24 hours.
  • Add the fresh herbs just before serving to keep them looking vibrant.
