- 1 ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ cup milk
- Pinch of salt

- 3 –3 ½ cups powdered sugar
- 2 –3 tbsp heavy cream or milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Gel food coloring pink, blush, rose, white

Make the Cupcakes
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, mixing well, then mix in the vanilla.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
Fill cupcake liners about two-thirds full.
Bake for 18–20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
Cool completely before frosting.
Prepare the Buttercream
Beat butter until smooth and whipped.
Add powdered sugar gradually until fully combined.
Add vanilla and cream; mix until fluffy and pipeable.
Divide frosting and tint each portion with gel colors as desired.
Decorate the Cupcakes
Use rose piping tips to form buttercream roses.
Use star tips for soft, elegant swirls.
Use petal tips for chrysanthemum-like designs.
Combine different shades of pink for depth and dimension.
Tips
- Always use gel food coloring; liquid coloring can thin out the frosting.
- Ensure cupcakes are fully cooled before piping.
- Practice piping flowers on parchment before decorating.
- Use softened, not melted, butter for smooth and stable buttercream.
Variations
- Add a touch of rose extract to the frosting for a floral flavor.
- Swap vanilla cupcakes for chocolate or almond.
- Create ombré frosting by blending multiple shades.
- Add decorative touches like edible pearls or shimmer dust.
Storage
- Store decorated cupcakes at a cool room temperature for up to 2 days.
- Refrigerate for up to 5 days (bring to room temperature before serving).
- Avoid heat, as buttercream will soften quickly.
